Growing up in a small town area near the bay in Barcelona, Oriol Vignut grew up in a middle-class family. At an early age, he was already fascinated by selling different stuff to people. He was 7 years old when he started to earn 5 euro every day by using his father’s photocopier/printer enlarging trending cartoon stickers and selling them in his school. After primary school, he went to a University to study Engineering believing that this course is less challenging for him. He was influenced by his father, who is an Architect entrepreneur. Aside from drawing buildings, he was also passionate about extreme sports like downhill mountain biking racing, motocross, kitesurf, and stand-up jet ski. He loves to take a risk and he’s enjoying it.
Oriol Vignut has a different perception about education, he did not put too much effort while he was in college thinking that whatever he learns in school is something that is not that useful in the real job. When he finished his college degree, he worked in his father’s office as a Mechanical engineer. However, working with his father is not enough for him as he wanted to learn and get his client. He decided to look for a 9 to 5 job and came across a not-so-pleasant guy who teaches him all the process but did not treat him fairly. This made him hate his job. He then went back to work with his father and started to get his clients. He is good at attracting clients, so he started to make his own money.
Living in a small town in Barcelona where growth is limited in the business industry especially in the field of construction there was a downfall in the market and experienced a construction crisis in 2008. He realized that there is something else, where he can excel especially in the online world. He did his research finding ways to apply online as an engineer. Yet, he didn’t see any potential to scale as it requires him to be present in different areas. In 2017, he had a terrible accident on his bike that almost broke his neck during his downhill bike training. He can barely walk which requires him to stay at home for 3 months. Through his boredom, he realizes that he needs to do something and starts digging the internet. He already has an idea about eCommerce as he used to sell refurbished items on eBay, es[ecially watches. He then started to build his online stores and ship his products directly to the manufacturer. Oriol was amazed by the outcome. He continues to explore the online world buying online courses and gaining more knowledge about marketing and eCommerce.
It was 2019 when Oriol Vignut finally earned his first 6 figure profit in a single month whom he considered a success after more than a year without making money in his online stores. He understands that it’s all about the numbers game. He combined his analytical mind and emotional marketing knowledge that he learned from his mentor. He considered the online course on YouTube by a young businessman as one of his inspirations to succeed. He started to send messages sharing his success stories and telling him that his course inspires him. One day, he received a response and started a great connection with this guy. Oriol Vignut loves to talk about growth mindset and marketing. He emphasized that to be successful you need to have the right mindset and correct method.
